Types of tickets available:

Single ticket (Ticket t+)

costs €2.55 for Metro/RER/trains, €2.05 for buses/trams. Valid for 2 hours with transfers on rail, or 1h30 on buses. Works everywhere in the Paris region (including Versailles and Disneyland Paris) but not for airports.

Airport ticket (Paris Région ↔ Aéroports)

a separate €14 ticket required for trips to/from Orly (Metro line 14) and CDG (RER B). Cannot be combined with regular t+ tickets on the same card.

Daily pass (Navigo Jour)

€12.30/day, unlimited travel from midnight to midnight. Worth it if you take 5+ trips in a day. Does not cover airports.

Tourist pass (Paris Visite)

valid for 1, 2, 3, or 5 consecutive days (€30.60 / €45.40 / €63.80 / €78.00 for adults). Covers airports too, making it the most flexible option. Discounts for children under 10. Generally considered overpriced compared to alternatives.

Weekly pass (Navigo Semaine)

€32.40/week (Monday–Sunday). The best value overall. Covers airports. Must be bought by Thursday for the current week; from Friday onward it applies to the following week. Requires a photo ID card (Navigo Découverte).

Cards / Supports:

Navigo Easy

(€2 one-time fee) — anonymous, transferable, for single tickets and daily/tourist passes.

Navigo Découverte

(€5 one-time fee) — requires a passport photo and your name; needed for the weekly pass.

NFC smartphone — can replace either card via the Île-de-France Mobilités or Bonjour RATP apps.

Key changes since 2025:

Paper tickets and 10-ride carnets are no longer sold (old ones could be converted until June 1, 2026).

Fare zones have been abolished — all tickets cover the entire Île-de-France region at the same price.

You can now pay a single bus ride by tapping a contactless credit card directly on the bus (€2.55, no transfers).

Quick tips:

Children under 4 travel free; ages 4–9 get reduced fares on some passes.

You cannot tap a credit card directly at Metro turnstiles — you must load a ticket in advance.

Airport staff sometimes refuse to sell the Navigo Découverte; you’re entitled to buy one regardless of residency.
